PJ Culligan: I found a grave in the old cemetery at Shanakyle outside of Kilrush for a Michael McMahon from High Street who died on 29th April 1907 aged 73 years. Also buried in the same grave is his daughter Mary who died on 15th March 1893 aged 4 1/2. The headstone was erected by his widow and family. The headstone is of white marble but has blackened over the years.
